Clove Essential Oil
INCI Eugenia Caryophyllus (Clove) Bud Oil
Overview
A warm, spicy essential oil distilled from clove buds.
What it is
Clove Essential Oil is distilled from dried clove buds, the same spice found in kitchens worldwide. It carries a warm, spicy, slightly sweet aroma.
Where it comes from and how it’s made
Clove trees are grown widely across tropical regions, particularly Indonesia and Madagascar. The dried flower buds are steam-distilled to draw out their essential oil.
What it does in a formulation
Contributes a warm, spicy note to a finished product’s scent profile.
Why Lovebee uses it
Clove brings such a distinctive warmth — it’s the kind of note that instantly says “cozy” the moment it shows up in a blend. We like using it in small amounts to add depth to spice-forward scents.
Good to know
- Used throughout our blended topical products; sold on its own as a single-note oil, it’s intended for diffuser use only.
- One of the more potent, spice-forward oils in our diffuser lineup.
Common questions

Warm, spicy, and slightly sweet — instantly recognizable from the kitchen spice.
- Is Clove Essential Oil the same as the whole spice?
It’s distilled from the same clove buds, though cosmetic and culinary sourcing and processing differ.
- Can I apply this essential oil directly to my skin?
Not as a standalone oil — on its own, it’s intended for diffuser use only. You’ll already find it safely blended into a number of our topical products, though.
