With just ten ingredients, Calm keeps daily hydration simple. There are no added scents or essential oils. Organic aloe vera forms the base in place of water, while olive squalane, organic jojoba oil and organic camellia seed oil provide lightweight moisture that absorbs readily, leaving skin feeling soft without a heavy or greasy finish. Vegetable glycerin helps draw in and retain moisture.

What to expect
Calm Face Moisturizer is made without any essential oils or added scents, keeping the experience subtle and simple. Its soft white cream has a smooth, lightweight texture that dispenses easily from the treatment pump, giving you a small amount with each press. An organic aloe vera base pairs with olive-derived squalane, jojoba and camellia seed oils, chosen for their light feel and quick absorption. It spreads easily and leaves skin feeling soft and moisturized, without a heavy or greasy finish.

How to use Calm Face Moisturizer
Dispense a small amount of Calm by pressing down on the treatment pump.
Since Calm is designed for sensitive skin, a skin patch test on the hand or arm is recommended before full facial use.
Gently apply to the face as needed for daily hydration and protection against the elements.

Caring for your Lovebee products
The little things make a big difference. Taking good care of the products that take care of you means you get their full benefits, for as long as they last. Below is a little more info to help you get the best use from your products.
Storage
As much as possible, keep Lovebee products in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. Between 10 and 22 °C (50 to 72 °F) is ideal. Stored this way, your products keep their freshness, benefits and appearance for their whole shelf life.
Balms, butters & creams
Products with more oil in them melt more easily. Lip balms and butters, for example, should never be left in a hot car or purse. A melted product can be re-hardened in the fridge. It may look a little different (cloudier, say) but keeps its benefits.
Shelf life
Using products within their shelf life ensures both your satisfaction and your safety.
Where there’s room on the packaging, you’ll find a number followed by a capital M: the “period after opening”, the longest a product should be used after you open it. 12M, for example, means use it within twelve months of opening.
Past that date a product isn’t necessarily unsafe (under the right conditions, beard and body oils can stay in great condition for years), but some ingredients lose their properties over time, so for the best experience we recommend sticking to it. Since we keep stock very low and make products fresh, you can trust that number.
Natural Preservatives
Lovebee products are made fresh in small batches without synthetic preservatives. Products that require a preservative system to safety sell use natural/naturally derived ingredients that have been tested and proven to control rancidity and keep bacteria, mould and other microorganisms out for the product’s whole shelf life.
Using your products
As with any product, always use your Lovebee products with clean hands (we have a lovely selection of soaps for that!). For creams, we recommend washable or eco-friendly biodegradable cosmetic applicators.
Where purposeful ingredients matter
Some faces get along with almost anything. Others flare up at a new scent, an essential oil or one ingredient too many, until trying a new product starts to feel like a gamble. We made Calm Face Moisturizer for that second kind of skin: our gentlest facial moisturizer, for anyone highly sensitive or prone to flare-ups, irritation or reactivity. Mostly that meant leaving things out. There's no scent of any kind, no essential oils, and only ten ingredients in all.
Old names in skincare
Organic aloe vera is the oldest name on the list. The juice pressed from the inner leaf of Aloe barbadensis turns up in Egyptian, Greek and Roman texts as a staple of folk skincare and bathing, and that reputation has carried through thousands of years into the creams and washes we use today.
Since it's mostly water, it can replace water entirely, and in Calm it forms the base of the cream. Organic camellia seed oil has a long history further east. It's pressed from the seeds of Camellia oleifera, a relative of the tea plant, and has been prized for centuries in Japanese and Chinese beauty traditions for its light, silky texture. That same silkiness is what it brings here.
The other two oils have a different kind of story. Organic jojoba comes from the seeds of a hardy desert shrub, and strictly speaking it isn't an oil at all but a liquid wax. It's closer in structure to skin's own oils than most carrier oils, and it keeps unusually well. Squalane used to come mostly from shark liver. Ours is made from olives, so it has the same light texture with no animal source. With vegetable glycerin to help draw in and hold moisture, these three oils give Calm its soft, fast-absorbing feel without any heaviness.
