What it is

Wintergreen Essential Oil is distilled from the leaves of Gaultheria procumbens. It carries a sharp, sweet, minty aroma, distinct from true mint oils.

Where it comes from and how it’s made

Gaultheria procumbens grows widely across eastern North America. The leaves are steam-distilled to draw out the essential oil.

  • One of the more potent oils in our diffuser lineup.

Common questions

What does Wintergreen Essential Oil smell like?

Sharp, sweet, and minty, distinct from true mint oils like peppermint.

Is Wintergreen the same as mint?

No — despite the similar cooling character, wintergreen comes from an entirely different plant.

Can I apply this essential oil directly to my skin?

Not as a standalone oil — on its own, it’s intended for diffuser use only. You’ll already find it safely blended into a number of our topical products, though.
