Bergamot Hydrosol
INCI Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Peel Water
Overview
The lightly fragrant water co-produced from bergamot peel, carrying a soft citrus note.
What it is
Bergamot Hydrosol is the water collected alongside bergamot’s essential oil. It carries a much softer, gentler version of bergamot’s bright citrus character.
Where it comes from and how it’s made
Bergamot is grown primarily in southern Italy. The water collected during processing of the peel is bottled separately as the hydrosol.
What it does in a formulation
As a light, fragrant water, Bergamot Hydrosol is used in place of some or all of the water in a formula, giving the finished product a soft citrus note.
Why Lovebee uses it
We like using this one where we want a whisper of bergamot’s brightness rather than the full intensity of the essential oil — it’s a gentler way to bring that same familiar citrus character into a formula.
