Hydrosols
Overview
Hydrosols are gentle, aromatic waters created during the steam distillation of plants. While essential oils capture the more concentrated aromatic compounds, hydrosols contain the water-soluble parts of the plant along with a much softer, more delicate scent.
At Lovebee, we use hydrosols to add a botanical water phase to products such as mists, toners, lotions, and creams. Depending on the plant, they can bring a fresh floral, herbal, or earthy character to a formula without the intensity of an essential oil.
Their gentler nature makes hydrosols especially useful in products designed for the face, sensitive skin, or everyday use. We choose them for their quality, freshness, and the way they complement the other ingredients in a formula.
