Tea Tree Hydrosol
INCI Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Water
Overview
A soft, fresh hydrosol distilled from tea tree leaves.
What it is
Tea Tree Hydrosol is the water collected when tea tree leaves are steam-distilled. It carries a much gentler version of tea tree’s sharp, medicinal character.
Where it comes from and how it’s made
Melaleuca alternifolia grows widely in its native Australia. The water that condenses alongside the essential oil during distillation is collected separately as the hydrosol.
What it does in a formulation
As a light, fragrant water, Tea Tree Hydrosol is used in place of some or all of the water in a formula, bringing a soft, fresh note into the finished product.
Why Lovebee uses it
We like this one where we want just a touch of tea tree’s clean character without the full intensity of the essential oil.
Good to know
- Vegan and entirely plant-derived.
