What it is
Spearmint Hydrosol is the water collected when spearmint is steam-distilled. It carries a soft, sweet, minty character, gentler than peppermint’s sharper edge.
Where it comes from and how it’s made
Spearmint is grown widely across temperate climates. The water that condenses during distillation is collected separately as the hydrosol.
What it does in a formulation
As a light, fragrant water, Spearmint Hydrosol is used in place of some or all of the water in a formula, bringing a soft, minty note into the finished product.
Why Lovebee uses it
Spearmint has a sweeter, gentler minty character than peppermint, and we like the softer freshness it brings to a formula.
