What it is
Rose Hydrosol is the water collected when Damask rose petals are steam-distilled for their essential oil. It carries a soft, true rose character, gentler than the concentrated essential oil.
Where it comes from and how it’s made
Damask roses are grown widely across regions including Bulgaria, Turkey, and Iran. The water that condenses alongside the essential oil during distillation is collected separately as the hydrosol.
What it does in a formulation
As a light, fragrant water, Rose Hydrosol is used in place of some or all of the water in a formula, bringing a soft, classic floral note into the finished product.
