Lavender Hydrosol

INCI Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Flower Water

Overview

A soft, floral hydrosol distilled from lavender flowers.

What it is

Lavender Hydrosol is the water collected when lavender flowers are steam-distilled for their essential oil. It carries a gentle, familiar, floral-herbaceous character.

Where it comes from and how it’s made

Lavandula angustifolia is grown widely across temperate climates, particularly southern France. The water that condenses alongside the essential oil during distillation is collected separately as the hydrosol.

What it does in a formulation

As a light, fragrant water, Lavender Hydrosol is used in place of some or all of the water in a formula, bringing a soft, floral note into the finished product.

Why Lovebee uses it

Lavender is such an easy, familiar favourite — the hydrosol lets us bring that same comforting character into a formula in a gentler, lighter form.

Good to know

  • Vegan and entirely plant-derived.
