Neroli Hydrosol
INCI Citrus Aurantium Amara (Bitter Orange) Flower Water
Overview
A delicate, sweetly floral hydrosol distilled from bitter orange blossoms.
What it is
Neroli Hydrosol is the water collected when bitter orange blossoms are steam-distilled. It carries a soft, sweet, floral character, gentler than the prized and costly neroli essential oil from the same flower.
Where it comes from and how it’s made
Citrus aurantium is grown widely across the Mediterranean. The blossoms are steam-distilled, and the water that condenses alongside the essential oil is collected separately as the hydrosol.
What it does in a formulation
As a light, fragrant water, Neroli Hydrosol is used in place of some or all of the water in a formula, bringing a soft floral note into the finished product.
Why Lovebee uses it
Neroli has such an elegant, delicate floral character, and the hydrosol lets us bring a touch of that refinement into a formula in a lighter, more accessible way.
