What it is
Peppermint Hydrosol is the water collected when peppermint is steam-distilled. It carries a much gentler version of peppermint’s crisp, cooling character.
Where it comes from and how it’s made
Peppermint is grown widely across temperate climates. The water that condenses alongside the essential oil during distillation is collected separately as the hydrosol.
What it does in a formulation
As a light, fragrant water, Peppermint Hydrosol is used in place of some or all of the water in a formula, bringing a soft, cooling note into the finished product.

We like this one where we want just a touch of peppermint’s cooling freshness rather than the full intensity of the essential oil.
