What it is
Ylang Ylang Hydrosol is the water collected when ylang ylang flowers are steam-distilled. It carries a soft, sweet, exotic floral character.
Where it comes from and how it’s made
Cananga odorata is grown widely across tropical regions, particularly Madagascar and Indonesia. The water that condenses during distillation is collected separately as the hydrosol.
What it does in a formulation
As a light, fragrant water, Ylang Ylang Hydrosol is used in place of some or all of the water in a formula, bringing a soft, exotic floral note into the finished product.
Why Lovebee uses it
Ylang ylang has such a rich, exotic floral character, and the hydrosol lets us bring a gentler version of that lush quality into a formula.
