What it is
Jojoba Oil is pressed from the seeds of the jojoba shrub, a hardy desert plant. Technically it’s classified as a liquid wax rather than a true oil, which gives it an unusually long shelf life and a light, non-greasy feel.
Where it comes from and how it’s made
Jojoba grows in arid regions, particularly the Sonoran Desert of the southwestern United States and Mexico. The seeds are pressed to release the oil.
What it does in a formulation
Brings a light, fast-absorbing texture to a finished product without feeling heavy or greasy.
Why Lovebee uses it
Jojoba is one of our favourite lighter oils to work with — it feels close to what skin already produces on its own, which makes it an easy, comfortable base to build a formula around.
